Visual eye candy for your Monday
Enjoy this web-based treat. And, if you speak Dutch -- you might want to order something for yourself!
What a great use of design and technology.
A hat tip to my dad for sharing this with me! He says after reading my blog for so long, he's now "attuned for interesting media."
At least someone is listening! :)

Ah, de Hema ;-)
Great retail shop (and it's been that for a long while now).
Great introduction to their online shop too - makes me wish I was back in The Netherlands. Their 'snacks' like smoked sausages, sausage rolls - hot, hot, hot! - and liquorices are famous.
Use to buy loads of stuff there, from clothing, to decorating materials, kitchen ware up to school items.
Simple principle of one-stop-shopping taken to a very fine and effective level for decennia's and bringing it in the same simple and effective way to the 'modern' online world.
Now that's a remarkable and high customer experience webmarketing!

Karin,
When I saw the origins of the site, I wondered if you'd be familiar with it. I agree -- it's really well done.

I blogged this one as well, really nifty! And it's nice to see something fresh in the retail space.

Being a Dutchman, I regularly visit the Hema.
Their website looks just as good as their stores. It's really easy for the eye, catches attention - and their soup is great as well!

Dave,
How do they create the same kind of visual interest in the store itself?
