Do they recognize you?

Basket

Can you imagine giving directions to this building?  "You take Route 35 to King Street, hang a left and off to your right, you'll see a huge picnic basket.  What?  No ma'am, a picnic basket.  That's right..."

Well if you work for Longaberger headquarters, that's how it would go.  That is really their headquarters.  Anyone want to guess what they sell?

Now most of us probably cannot erect a building in the shape of our product/service.  But we can be just as recognizable in our own way.

Come on over to Brad Shorr's blog Words Sell, Inc. where I am serving up a guest post on this very topic.  I'd love to have you jump into the conversation.

What an amazing building. That would be something to try and give directions to.

My wife, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law all went there on a trip a few years back. I guess I never realized that they went to visit a "big ol' basket."

Eric,

They didn't bring back pictures? Or talk about it? I would think such an oddity would inspire lots of chatter.

Ask your wife now -- if she knew in advance the building was a basket, so it was no big deal?

I'm curious now....

Drew

Drew,
She did know in advance that it was a basket. It still wowed her seeing it, but I think the long bus ride with a bunch of other wowed ladies gave her enough time to let the excitement out.

Of course, she did say she told me, so I either didn't have my listening ears on, or didn't realize what an amazing building it really is.

I want that building.

(Hello Drew)

Eric,

Hmm, sorry -- didn't mean to get you into re-tread trouble by bringing up your listening skills!

Drew

Kaiser,

Good to see you back. I've missed you. Better news to see that you're back on your own blog. I kept going back to check....but hadn't been there in a couple weeks. It was an excellent surprise to see the voting went my way.

Drew

That's what we do over at TKE Drew - we do surprises.

Kaiser,

I've always said you were a crafty fellow. And I am not talking knitting.

Drew

No, I don't do knitting you're right.
